CONSOLIDATING MY IDEAS RESEARCH - FRONT COVER

My conclusions from all of the front covers that I have researched:

I would like my front cover to have a range of cover stories and bright colours, as it would be more appealing to my target audience because it is not something you would usually see, because on classical magazines, you mainly see basic colour schemes.

Having attractive cover stories would ensure that the reader would be interested in purchasing my magazine. I would like a lot of colour, as this is not a conventional feature of classical magazines.

I also know that puffs are a good idea, and to have them specifically placed is good for effect. I will apply this to my puffs, so they are knowledgeable and relate to the articles inside.

I think I should break conventions with my masthead and make it 3D, this is because I am trying to attract a younger audience to what is stereo-typically the audience of classical magazines.

I think the main picture would be effective in the middle of the page, this is because it will then grab the most attention.

I know the importance of picking a good layout and white-space, so I will try to make it proportional so it fits my magazine genre.
